Membership in COPA is open to all actuaries who are either currently enrolled or retired in good standing with the Joint Board. Membership automatically means entitlement to use the designation COPA or Member, College of Pension Actuaries. This designation describes a pension actuary who is not satisfied merely by maintaining the educational standards required of all EAs. Instead, it indicates motivation to engage in the educational and research opportunities offered only by COPA.
By becoming a member, a pension actuary will:
- Immediately have access to the educational and conference services offered by the College.
- Immediately have access to the COPA list-serve.
- Feel secure in the knowledge that supporting COPA's regulatory and legislative effort is helping to improve our nation's retirement security system and the ability of pension actuaries to serve their clients effectively.
- Enjoy the camaraderie of associating with other professionals in the pension actuarial field.
- Feel pride in supporting the only national organization devoted exclusively to the needs of pension actuaries.
