In May 2005, a Task Force was assigned to work on the Critical Review of the U.S. Actuarial Profession (known as CRUSAP). The task force conducted a critical analysis of the American actuarial profession, using enterprise risk management and management consulting techniques. It issued a draft report in September 2006 and invited comments, then published its final report in December 2006. The final CRUSAP report is now available. |
Message from the President -
May 20, 2008
We have uploaded a letter and some Q&A's to this website that
contains momentous news about a proposed change to COPA. In short, your Board of Directors believes the time is right to combine our efforts with ASPPA.
COPA leadership has undergone an extensive review of our programs and services with a view to improving and expanding them. By combining with ASPPA at this time, we have the best of both worlds: a level of autonomy that allows our focus to remain fixed on the actuaries and their needs while using ASPPA's outstanding organizational strengths to provide much needed infrastructure. Most importantly, our comment letters will have more impact.
The information posted is intended to bring you up to date. ASPPA actuaries are receiving similar information from ASPPA.
Over the next 90 days, we will post more information about this exciting combination and I know you will share in my enthusiasm about COPA's future.
Richard A. Block, President, 2007-2008
