Kevin J. Donovan

Kevin Donovan is a nationally recognized speaker and author in the area of qualified retirement plans. Kevin is a shareholder in the CPA firm of Beach Fleischman & Co., P.C., and is President of the firm’s pension subsidiary, Pinnacle Plan Design, P.C., where he specializes in designing retirement plans to maximize the benefits for business owners and principals.
Kevin is an Enrolled Actuary as well as a Certified Public Accountant. He is a Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), where he has served on the Board of Directors as well as the Government Affairs Committee. Kevin has also served on the ASPPA Summer Conference Committee and currently sits on the committee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Retirement Planning Conference (at which he presents sessions on designing retirement plans for professionals and small businesses).
Kevin has been a Contributing Editor to the Journal of Pension Benefits (JPB), the leading trade publication for pension professionals, where he previously authored a column concerning retirement plan design for small businesses. He is currently an Editorial Advisor for the JPB and continues to contribute articles from time to time.
Kevin has also been published in the Journal of Taxation of Employee Benefits, the Benefit Law Journal, as well as the ASPPA Journal, the newsletter for ASPPA members. In addition, Kevin is a contributing author to the Life Insurance Answer Book for Qualified Plans and Estate Planning.
Most recently Kevin was a contributing author to the AICPA publication “The CPA’s Guide to Retirement Plans for Small Businesses” in which he authored a chapter on defined benefit plans.
Kevin is a frequent lecturer on qualified retirement plans. He has spoken at numerous conferences sponsored by ASPPA, the National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA), the AICPA and is a former instructor for PPD/Corbel, the nation’s largest sponsor of continuing education courses for pension professionals. Kevin co-authored the teaching notes and case studies for PPD/Corbel’s DB Plans for DC Plan Providers course that he taught in 2000 and 2001.
Kevin graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Accounting in May of 1980. He has practiced in the retirement plan area for 25 years.
