This will be a one day workshop intended to educate on the funding changes made under PPA.

Topics will include:

  • Discussion of the yield curve, segment rates and the effective interest rate
  • Present value calculations under a yield curve
  • Calculation of minimum contribution requirement
  • Handling of funding standard carryover credit balance and Prefunding credit balance
  • Calculation of Target Normal Cost and Shortfall amortization charges
  • Calculation of Funding Target and Funding Shortfall
  • Transition rules for present value calculations
  • Phase-in of Shortfall amortizations
  • Determination of “At-Risk’ plans
  • Restrictions of benefits based on funding percentage
  • Calculation of maximum contribution requirement
  • Implications on Client Consulting

The speakers for this one day seminar are Larry Deutsch of Larry Deutsch Enterprises, Inc. and Rick Groszkiewicz of Software Polish. Lunch will be provided.

The estimated CE credit for this program is 7.5 hours.
