Q. Why am I having trouble sending or receiving messages?
A. Members may occasionally have trouble sending or receiving messages through our ListServe. The reason will be obvious to anybody who thinks about it for a moment: SPAM. The internet is still an untamed wilderness. Hence, people sometimes go to great lengths to protect themselves. Sometimes those protections work a little too well. When that happens, email from our ListServe appears to be SPAM and it is prevented from reaching you.
If you are having trouble receiving messages:
Here are the steps to follow to ensure that you have done all you can (from this end, anyway) to ensure continuing receipt of the ListServe messages:
1. Sign on to the ListServe at this link:

2. When you have successfully signed in, you should find a link on the page to Edit Membership. The easiest way to find it is probably to type cntl-F and enter "Edit Membership" in the search box and let your browser find it for you. Once you have found the link, click it.
3. If your messages are not getting to you because our ListServe has received one or more email rejection notices, then you will find the following text on the page: "This email address is bouncing - More info here." Again, the easiest way to find it is probably to type cntl-F and search for it. Once you have found that text, click on the "More info here" link.
That link will then take you to a new page where you can instruct our ListServe to send a reactivation request. You do that by clicking on the "Send Reactivation Request" button.
NOTE: Once your ListServe membership is reactivated, you will hopefully start to receive new messages that are posted to the ListServe. Unfortunately, Yahoo! does not automatically send out the messages you missed. In order to read the messages that did not reach you please sign on directly to the ListServe and read the messages on-line.
If you are having trouble sending messages:
Our ListServe is currently configured to accept incoming messages only from those who have properly registered with the ListServe. Hence, if the email address that you are using to send a message to our ListServe is different from the address you have registered with the ListServe provider (Yahoo! at this moment), your message will be rejected.
If your email address is properly registered with our ListServe provider and your messages are still not being posted, please ensure that you are sending the messages to the correct ListServe address, which is:
CollegeofPensionActuaries [at] yahoogroups [dot] com
