Membership Relations and Leadership Committee

Paul Polapink, Chairperson

Purpose:

The committee has three main functions:

  1. To solicit individual members to determine if the direction, operation, and policies of COPA provide the forum and the services required to enlighten and strengthen the profession.
  2. To provide advice to the Board of Directors based on the results of such solicitation.
  3. To encourage members to seek leadership roles in the organization.

Goals for 2005:

  1. Contact every member in 2005 by telephone. Determine what each member expects from a COPA membership.
  2. Ask if the individual might attend a COPA conference or workshop.
  3. Determine if the member has interest in committee or volunteer work.
  4. Ask for ideas and suggestions that will help grow the organization.
  5. Provide written reports to the Board of Directors.
  6. Immediately contact the Board of Directors with issues that should be addressed quickly.
  7. Maintain a “Comments Listing” which would include the names of the individuals contacted and their applicable comments.
  8. Maintain a “Volunteer List.”
  9. Provide feedback to individual members where applicable.
